1. Crisis Management, a process designed to enable effective response to the event. Crisis management processes to focus on stabilizing the situation and prepare the company for recovery.

2. Business Resumption Planning: Planning and Business Recovery includes recovery of critical business functions and processes that relate to or from the provision of essential products or services to the customer.

3. IT Disaster Recovery: which concerns the recovery of critical IT resources, including systems, applications, databases, storage and network resources.BCM appears to contain many different terms, some of which seem to be very similar.

Examples include:
• Disaster Recovery: a term reserved for the recovery and resumption of key technologies in the event of a disaster. Disaster recovery can include tasks such as the resumption of individual systems (eg, WAN or ERP application), or the recovery of all relevant aspects of the IT environment.

• Resumption Planning is reserved for the recovery of critical business functions that are separate from IT. Examples include planning Reconnect resume center functions, production processes or wages.

• Contingency Planning: This refers to tactical solutions addressing the core resource or process. In contrast to BCM, planning is usually a single action, and not like a program or series of related activities. Example of planning is to determine how to cope with the loss of a particular manufacturer, or creating processes to work around the loss of key equipment on the production line.

• Recovery planning is closely related to the BCM. These two terms can be used interchangeably.

• Emergency Response: includes immediate actions to preserve life and protect property and assets. in crisis situations are often a subset of the broader crisis management. An example of action in crisis situations is an evacuation plan....
